What does an old volcano sound like? Nothing

I recently went on a trip to the volcanic island Lanzarote, off the coast of West Africa. Alongside the desired for chill-time, I did three field recordings close to the ocean and volcanic craters.

I enjoyed the meditative aspect of field recording. There was nothing to do but listen. It felt like a much needed relief from a busy mind.

Although there aren’t many recordings (it was a holiday, after all…) I’ve used them as an opportunity to catalogue my recordings for the first time with Aaron Cendan’s UCS Renaming Tool.

Do feel free to download and use the recordings if you like.

And finally, a recording of the ocean (which may come in handy in my next university assignment)

Big thanks for the photos to my bro (@dziex on Instagram). Also: patience of a saint as he waited for me to do my recordings!
